A little peak into iland co’s. backyard… Long Jetty

Did you know that iland co. HQ is located on the beautiful, sunny Central Coast of NSW?

With domestic travel being our only option for getting away for the time being we thought we’d give you a little bit of insight into our very own favourite travel hot spots right here on our very own doorstep.

The Central Coast has long been a favourite weekend travel destination for visitors from Sydney but is often overlooked by travellers from further afield and we can’t figure out why, we’re also not sure if we really want to share our best kept secrets but what the heck! Over the coming weeks we’ll share a few different areas of our beautiful region starting with my hometown, Long Jetty.

Long Jetty, once a sleepy little fishing holiday village has recently emerged as the new hipster mecca of the coast, it’s grungy main road is dotted with trendy boutiques, vintage stores and ultra cool cafes serving arguably the best coffee the coast has to offer.

Start your day the right way with an early morning yoga class followed by a wholesome, healthy breakfast at Modern Organic. They have a sunny tranquil courtyard at the back of the cafe and yoga studio which makes it the perfect one stop shop for nurturing your mind, body and spirit.

Find classic pre-loved & hand made treasures at Sorry Grandma Shop or Long Jetty Vintage or shop the many boutiques for bespoke designer and all the latest on trend fashion pieces. Finally finish up the day with a craft beer or cocktail at the recently revived bar and movie theatre The Savoy.

With plenty of unique gems to be found and good food to be had you’ll fit right into the bohemian Jetty scene draped in our Indigo Haze Kimono Robe.

The Coast Walking Track in Wyrrabalong National Park is a great way to start your morning, the 6km round trip hike runs between Bateau Bay and Forresters Beach with spectacular ocean views right along the clifftop trail. The best time to walk is between May - August when whale watching season is at its peak or in the spring when the wildflowers are in full bloom.

Who said you can’t hike looking stylish, our White Bird of Paradise Kimono will blend in effortlessly with the natural coastal landscape around you!

Stay just down the road at the super cute and romantic Kim’s Beachside Retreat. The luxury timber bungalows and spa villa’s are literally a stone's throw from the crystal blue water and golden sands of Toowoon Bay, the best swimming beach on the coast. This adults only retreat (sorry kids under 12 are not permitted) is just over a 1 hr drive from Sydney.

With delicious breakfast and dinner included in your rates at the onsite restaurant, a cocktail bar to whet your appetite before dinner or for an evening nightcap, day spa services and of course the beach right on your doorstep it’s the perfect recipe for a blissful romantic weekend getaway.

Look stunning strolling on the beach or at dinner in our versatile Desert Bloom Kimono Robe.

Try to coincide your stay with a visit to the Shelly Beach Market which takes place on the last Saturday of each month and is newly located on the Long Jetty Foreshore. You'll find beautiful handmade goods from local emerging artists and designers, fresh produce, food trucks, live music and a great atmosphere. A prefect day out.

With Tuggerah Lakes on one side of town and endless stunning beaches on the other there is no end of activities to keep you entertained. A visit to the area is not complete without venturing out onto the actual 351 meter 'Long Jetty' for spectacular sunset views or of course an insta worthy pic in front of the iconic Long Jetty mural.
